r. Randi Realson has been practicing since 1986. She has studied many modalities including psychoanalytic talk therapy, gestalt body-centered therapy, hypno-behavioral therapy, guided imagery and meditation, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Thought Field Therapy (TFT), and energy work. She participated as a patient in each to experience them fully and master their use. Ultimately, she completed a doctorate in Wholistic Nutrition, to better understand herbal, nutritional and other therapies which may assist in holistic healing.

She understands how troublesome symptoms from which patients suffer are related to each other and to underlying patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving. For example, weight issues often result from emotional difficulties unrelated to food; relationship issues may be connected to childhood trauma; career issues develop from low self esteem. Harmful patterns can extend to other areas of life. Dr. Realson is committed to helping patients discover how to free themselves from the pain and suffering these patternscause.

Dr. Realson has appeared on television, authored published articles and run workshops for professionals and the lay public. She was a founding member of the Eating Disorder Council of Long Island, now part of the National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA), where she served on the Executive Board. She ran support groups at Holliswood Hospital for eating disorder sufferers and their families and friends. A visiting lecturer in the Counseling Department at CW Post Graduate School, and Adult Education teacher in the Manhasset Public Schools, she currently supervises other therapists in private consultation and is available for workshops and seminars.
